About Us

Come on over to learn a little but more about me and my small business.

Thank you for exploring my space and artwork!

Why do I create?

From a young age, I have always been captivated by colors and the challenge of naming the colors or identifying the color mixtures that I observed around me. Today, in addition to the love of color, I am driven by observation of beauty, respect for innocence, culture and authenticity in people around me. My art is a reflection of these values, capturing the emotion of the moment as much as the subject itself. I strongly believe there is more that connects us than divides us and my work celebrates the imagery that celebrates these connections. The world provides these fleeting moments of beauty. My desire is to sit with those moments and translate them into shadows, lines or values. My goal is to create visual echoes outside the gift the world created and shared with us. Lastly, I also believe that art is a celebration of all the senses which I honor through visual and tactical texture in my work. I focus on the interactions of the world, emphasizing emotions and visuals that highlight our shared experiences.

Artistic Process:

Let me tell you a secret,  to this day I still have to physically restrain myself from touching objects of interest when visiting museums and galleries. This desire to take in beauty using as many senses as possible is one of the main influences of my process. All of my pieces are textured either physically or visually, so that my original pieces are a multi-sensory experience. The rest of my process is driven by curiosity and process steps that give me energy. When I find a new process that results in 'wow', I work to hone it until I have the technical expertise to include it in my professional work. These moments, or processes, become my 'must have' list. And I believe that energy is translated into the final pieces.

Here are a few of my 'must haves' that often appear in my work:

  • Physical texture - texture paste or modeling paste, mixed media collage, or thick strokes of paint.
  • Visual texture - strong shadows, playful backgrounds that are often abstracted. I balance blending, with crisp saturated strokes, and drippy, thin layers.
  • Both drawing and painting - I love linework, written language, structural drawings and often look for ways to incorporate this into my finished pieces.
  • Indirect painting - As often as I paint the primary subject, I also really enjoy creating form by removing paint or painting the backgrounds over the subject.
  • Exploration and layering - The energy I put into a painting is part of the final pieces, and I chose to create through curiosity and playfulness.
  • Diversity - I tend to work on 4-8 paintings at a time, rotating through them to keep the energy fresh and the subjects diverse. I can allow one to dry while I work on another and can constantly explore through practice pieces new mediums to see what I want to incorporate into my professional works.

Artist Bio:

A proud native of the Pacific Northwest, Megan has been painting since childhood, when she joined adult art classes long before she was grown. Megan was drawn instinctively to color, gesture, and the challenge of capturing what she observed. Though her academic path led her to earn a degree in Anthropology with a focus on Primate Behavior and Ecology, she supported her studies through work in health care—an early sign of the compassion and community-centered mindset that continues to shape her life and creative practice.

During the Covid pandemic, she rediscovered color expiration through flow art and what she describes as “the joy of color, movement, and possibility.” Flow art reignited her creative spark, eventually leading her toward bold portraiture and fine multimedia work that blends abstraction, observation, and layered texture.

Her studio overlooks a tree-lined neighborhood park which captures the evolving light throughout the day. In this space she moves between multiple works in progress at once. This rotation keeps her process energized, exploratory, and layered. “Art is a celebration of all the senses,” she says—an idea she honors through tactile surfaces, visual texture, and the interplay of drawing and painting. Her practice centers on curiosity, indirect painting, structural linework, saturated color, and the physicality of texture, all of which form her personal “must-haves” list for any finished piece.

Across subjects and styles, Megan captures emotion as much as imagery—whether innocence, wonder, stillness, or connection. Her art reflects her lifelong fascination with color, her respect for authenticity of character, and her belief that beauty should be accessible to everyone. Guided by the conviction she continues to create work that invites viewers into a shared experience—one grounded in emotion, humanity, and the vibrant language of color.
